The process starts with craftsmen carving wooden bowls using a lathe. The waste wood generated in this process is burned in a high-temperature kiln to produce a special ash known as "Furobai." This ash embodies the essence of the Japanese tea ceremony and traditional craftsmanship. "Furobai" is not just ordinary ash. It is a crucial part of the tea ceremony stage, hiding years of artisan skills and pride. Our craftsmen carefully sift each grain to achieve a fine particle size up to 100 microns. We also offer a more refined ash known as "Robai," processed to remove impurities. Although they may appear similar, "Robai" entails additional effort, producing an even more delicate ash.
